Well, well, well...today is the day (apparently). The NCAA is ready to unleash Hell, fire, and brimstone upon the men of Troy. For many of you, this is a long time coming. I mean, none of us are naive enough to think that USC has done everything within the guidelines of collegiate sport. Hell, no one does that. But today could be the day in which they stop living in shades of gray and are forced to operate in black and white.
Obviously, the two big names surrounding these investigations are Reggie Bush and OJ Mayo. I am about 99% sure that they did a lot wrong with the recruitment and handling of these kids. But I don't hammer the football program as much since why should they care if some guy buys Bush's parents a new house or a new car? Their job is to win football games and not combing through other people's tax returns. OJ though...I hope that that first round loss was worth it because I don't see this ending well. Why would anyone ever hire Tim Floyd?
What should happen:
USC Football - Don't change the past. Don't arbitrarily try to take away wins. Those things happened. Those games were played. Don't punish the past, punish the present and future. What I would do is limit them to 60-65 scholarships for the next three years and a one year ban from appearing on TV.
USC Basketball - You can't take away past success because there was none. And they dug their own grave by bringing in Floyd and Mayo. Three year postseason ban with a loss of 3 scholarships. And although unrealistic, they should take every dollar that they make at the gate next year and give it to charity (and not for another SUV for Joe McKnight). Bury them.
What will happen:
USC Football - Nothing of significance. The NCAA can't afford to bury one of their cash cows. They turned a blind eye when Dick Tressel was giving free cars away for years, they will forget about this, too. Instead...
USC Basketball - They will KILL this program. The hoops team is going to get sacrificed for the good of the football program. It might not be right, but that's my pick for what happens.
What do you think? What happens to the Trojan athletic department today? Does the NCAA have a big, swinging dick or a flapping, chewed-up pussy? I suppose that I will allow you faggot Ohio State fans to talk about that QB that just agreed to come to Columbus. I must be in a decent mood. If he's related to Dee Miller, HE'S GOT TO BE GOOD!!! Adios muchachos.
